A Father and Son. A Family Business.
A Way of Building That Was Almost Lost.

Ozzy’s Golden Construction is a boutique design-build firm built on a principle most of the industry forgot: the person who designs the vision should be the same person who builds it.

The Master Builder.

For most of human history, the person who designed a building was the same person who built it.

The Greeks called this person the arkhitekton — literally, the chief builder. Not the chief designer. Not the chief artist. The chief builder. Design and construction were one discipline, held by one person, applied from first sketch to final stone.

Architectural Blueprint of the Dome

Brunelleschi designed and built the dome of the Florence Cathedral. Christopher Wren designed and built St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. These were not architects who handed drawings to a contractor. They were Master Builders — individuals who held the full vision and the full knowledge to execute it.

This is how building worked for thousands of years.

Then the industry split.

As construction grew more complex and professions were codified, the Master Builder became two people — then three, then four. The architect designed. The engineer calculated. The contractor built. And the client stood in the middle, trying to coordinate people who were never designed to work together.

In 1857, the American Institute of Architects was founded, formalizing architecture as a distinct licensed profession separate from construction. By the 20th century, standard industry contracts assumed an adversarial relationship between architect and contractor. The division was no longer cultural — it was structural.

The split was not inevitable. It was a choice the industry made, and then forgot it had made.

Today, the symptoms of that split are everywhere.

The architect designs in isolation — beautiful drawings produced without daily knowledge of what happens on a construction site. The contractor receives those drawings and begins interpreting, substituting, and value-engineering. The architect pushes back. The contractor responds with change orders.

The homeowner watches their vision dissolve in the friction between two professionals who were never structured to collaborate — and pays for every hour of that conflict.

No one intended this. The system produced it.

Stunning Cathedral Vaults

Ozzy’s Golden Construction was founded to restore the Master Builder model.

Not as a theory. Not as marketing language. As a practice.

Every OGC project begins the way building was always meant to begin: with design. With concept. With the full vision in hand before a single permit is pulled. We develop the idea, then we assemble the team — architects, engineers, specialists — under one unified process, one standard of excellence, and one line of authority that runs from the first sketch to the final certificate of occupancy.

We do not hand drawings to a contractor. We do not receive drawings from an architect and hope the vision survives. We hold the vision from the moment it is conceived to the moment the family walks through their finished home.

That is what a Master Builder does. That is what Ozzy Graveran has done for 35 years. That is what OGC was built to protect.

Ozzy Graveran reviewing construction on site

Ozzy Graveran — Founder & Master Builder

Ozzy Graveran studied Building Construction for over nine years in Cuba — an education equivalent to a Master’s degree, with a specialization in structural design as a builder. Not as an architect. Not as an engineer. As a builder who understands the full discipline: how structures are designed, how loads are calculated, how forces move through a building, and how all of it translates into the reality of steel, concrete, and wood in the field.

That education does not exist in the American system. In the U.S., architecture, engineering, and construction are taught as separate disciplines. In Cuba, Ozzy learned them as one. That is the Master Builder tradition — and it is the foundation of everything OGC does.

After arriving in South Florida, Ozzy put that education to work at the highest level. He served as Chief Field Engineer on Marlins Stadium — a 37,000-seat retractable-roof ballpark that required the coordination of structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, and one of the most complex roof mechanisms ever built. He led field engineering on Downtown Dadeland, major Brickell high-rise developments, and large-scale commercial projects across Miami-Dade County.

These were not small jobs. These were projects where a single structural miscalculation could cost millions of dollars and months of delay. Ozzy was the person they trusted to make sure that didn’t happen.

In 2007, Ozzy founded Ozzy’s Golden Construction to do what he had always done — but for families. Not for developers. Not for corporate clients. For the families who deserve the same level of structural expertise and personal care that high-rise developers pay millions to access.

Today, Ozzy personally reviews every structural decision on every OGC project. When a slab needs to be cut, when a load path needs to be rerouted, when hidden steel columns need to be integrated into existing walls — Ozzy is there. He does not delegate structural judgment. He never has.

“I build every project as if I am building it for my own family. That is not something I say for marketing. It is the only standard I know.”

Miguel Graveran — General Manager

Miguel Graveran grew up watching Ozzy build. He saw what happened when a project was led with real expertise and personal care. He also saw what happened when clients worked with builders who did not operate that way — the stress, the cost overruns, the broken trust, the dreams that were compromised.

Miguel’s background is in luxury hospitality — an industry where the client experience is not an afterthought. It is the product. He brought that standard to OGC because he saw a gap: the construction industry builds extraordinary things, but the experience of building is often anything but extraordinary.

At OGC, Miguel is the concert master. He coordinates the entire process so that every interaction, every decision, and every deliverable meets the standard your family deserves. He is the person who answers when you call. He is the person who leads your weekly project meetings alongside Ozzy. He is the person who calls you at 30 days, 90 days, and one year after your project is complete to make sure everything is performing as it should.

Ozzy builds the home. Miguel builds the experience around it. Together, they deliver something the construction industry almost never provides: a process that feels as exceptional as the finished product.

“The families we work with are trusting us with the most important project of their lives. That trust is not something we take lightly. It is something we earn every single day of the project.”

The Mission

A Small Team. On Purpose.

OGC is boutique by design. We are not a large firm with 20 project managers. We are a small, intentional team where every member knows your name, your project, and your family’s vision. That is the only way to deliver the personal standard our clients expect.

The Values

Five Words. One Standard.

01

Intentional

Nothing happens by accident at OGC. The design, the process, the communication, the team — every element is chosen with purpose. Our clients feel this from the first phone call. We do not stumble into solutions. We engineer them.

02

Caring

We build for families. We know your children’s names. We know which room matters most to you and why. We protect your daily life during construction because we understand that a renovation is not just a project — it is an interruption to the life of people we care about. We treat it that way.

03

Excellent

Excellence is not a finish level. It is a standard that applies to every phase: the accuracy of the concept design, the precision of the engineering, the quality of the communication, the cleanliness of the job site, and the integrity of the final walk-through. If it bears our name, it meets our standard.

04

Honest

We tell you the truth before you ask for it. We share our change order breakdown upfront: 10% city requirements, 10% hidden conditions, 80% client-initiated. We tell you if your budget does not match your vision. We tell you if we are not the right firm for your project. Honesty is the foundation of every relationship we build.

05

Expert

Ozzy’s 35 years of field-applied structural knowledge is not something we market. It is something we use. On every project. On every structural decision. Our clients never wonder whether their builder understands what is happening inside their walls. They know — because Ozzy is standing there, explaining it to them.

A beautiful, generational luxury home
The Mission

We Are Building Something That Outlasts Us.

Ozzy’s Golden Construction is a family business. Not because it sounds good on a website, but because that is the truth of how it operates. A father and a son, working together, building homes for other families.

Our mission is not to become the largest firm in South Florida. It is to become the most trusted. The firm that the most successful families call for their most important projects — not because of our size, but because of our standard.

We want to build homes that serve families for generations. Homes where grandchildren gather. Homes where holidays are celebrated for the next 30 years. Homes that perform structurally, aesthetically, and emotionally long after the last invoice is paid.

That is what a Master Builder builds.
That is what OGC will always build.
